1823
The foundation
Salerno, 1823. In an area surrounded by sea and mountains, a ceramic industrial complex destined to become one of the brands of excellence in the production of Made in Italy tiles, Antiche Fornaci D'Agostino, comes to life.

1839
The first
gallery in Italy
From Antiche Fornaci D'Agostino bricks were produced for Italy's first railway tunnel in Naples, commissioned by the Bourbon king of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies in 1839. This is an important legacy that cannot be disregarded, a heritage of technical knowledge, of creative wisdom from which, yesterday as today, the company draws heavily, paying attention to the support materials on which the range of ceramic glazes and colors is superimposed.

1917-1943
Through two
global conflicts
Antiche Fornaci D'Agostino, with its rich and articulated history, emerges as an extraordinary example of resilience and strength. Through the tumultuous periods of the two world wars, it has continued to shape clay with skill, determination and dedication. His ability to preserve craftsmanship excellence and passion for ceramics has helped keep tradition alive, symbolizing the strength of cultural roots and the ability to adapt to changing historical circumstances. His story is an ode to ceramic tradition and the inherent power of passion for one's craft.

1960
The collaboration
with Gio Ponti
From our collaboration with the archistar Gio Ponti, the 33 white and blue decorations with geometric patterns were born in 1960, commissioned by the Parco dei Principi Hotel in Sorrento, the first Design Hotel in the world. Another company our group, Ceramica Francesco De Maio, currently holds the exclusive license for the production, distribution, and sale of these decorations.
The collaboration with Gio Ponti was long-lived. Between the late 1940s and early 1970s, decors were created for prestigious collections, including the Girandola, Revival, Philodendron, Pothos, and the supply of Singapore department stores.
A new ceramic language was born here that went beyond craftsmanship because it was inspired by design forms and content.

1989
Vietri Ceramic Group
The Group that will become a point of reference in the world of Ceramics is born. It includes within it prominent brands including Antiche Fornaci D'Agostino, Ceramica Francesco De Maio, Ceramica Vietri Antico and Ce.Vi. Vietrese Ceramics.

1993
A new identity
In order to respond to new market needs, the company undertakes a process of renewal. The name of the company itself is reformulated, becoming “Antiche” Fornaci D'Agostino. The word “Antiche” evokes a deep connection with its roots and the tradition that has shaped the company through the years. “Fornaci D'Agostino” remains as a constant beacon, witnessing a centuries-long commitment to craftsmanship. This renewed identity, symbolizes the fusion of the company's rich history and its ability to adapt to modern challenges. A timeless brand that continues to celebrate the past while embracing the future with a new vision.

1999
“Riflessi di Cava”
is born
Riflessi di Cava (Reflections of Quarry), a historic and flagship collection of Antiche Fornaci D'Agostino, is born. Unique and exclusive for materiality of the glazes used and for the particularity of its colors that give the pleasant taste of tradition and a trickle of creative nostalgia. The colors of this collection are not simply colors, but ceramic poetry.

2011
The new
production site
In 2011, the new production site was built, at the forefront of technological content and new industrial facilities, which further enhance the appeal of a timeless product. Important is the ceramic research carried out in the renovated in-house laboratory, where high-profile chemists continually develop and research new applications, giving rise to ideas and projects of great aesthetic and technical value. This is why we can also speak of innovation and modernity, as the Antiche Fornaci D'Agostino product is extremely inspired by its territory while maintaining high technical characteristics.

2023
Two centuries
of ceramic history
